Legend has it that on occasion the confluence of the Des Moines and the Raccoon rivers is met by an ethereal third river, known to some as the river Styx. It’s trafficked by a cloaked and mysterious figure who, since time immemorial, has conveyed souls from one bank to the other, pausing only occasionally to refresh his own weary spirit. A rich blend of roasted and chocolate malts melds seamlessly with notes of caramel and dark macerated fruits from the whiskey casks. Layered over silky cacao nibs and spiked with warm cinnamon and bright orange zest, this barrel-aged stout is precisely the treat needed to bring a smile to the Ferryman’s face.
