Sam was born and raised right here in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended Roosevelt High School and then Grand View University. In the Fall of 2010, after graduating with a B.A. in English and Psychology, she set her sights on a small city on the coast of Maine, where she lived for four years. There she fell in love with craft beer and the industry itself. She’s been to (and poured at) many festivals, homebrews, reads books about beer and has taken online courses from a beer institute. She is now living back in her hometown and doing what she loves best: pouring beer, talking about beer and, of course, drinking beer!
