What is your favorite Confluence beer? Or, If you could only drink one beer for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Before I started working at Confluence when I’d be out and about in this lovely city, I’d always order a Des Moines IPA. It’s a Des Moines staple in my eyes. I can’t ever get sick of it. I also feel like if you’re a tourist looking for one beer that is consistent in quality and taste, you can’t go wrong there.
Any random facts about yourself?
I’m a Doctor of Chiropractic. I own my own chiropractic practice called Shine Chiropractic specializing in individualized energy work and chiropractic care. I’ve been in practice for 2.5 years. No, I can’t legally diagnose you from behind the bar, but I can serve you some pretty great beer!
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
I probably wouldn’t be able to live without my cats, Bearcat and Pixel. They’re also tattooed on my right arm.
What does “craft beer” mean to you?
Craft beer gives the people inside the breweries a chance to come together and create something unique to represent their community. A chance to showcase something they have made and serve their community. Every time I try a new beer from a local place, a far off place, or even my hometown in the Quad Cities, I think of the people who came together to make it possible.
Craft beer = Community.
